Throw Me a Bone…

Posted on Jan.22, 2009, under Adwords, New Rich Thoughts

During the last 2 weeks, I am working intensely in Adwords.

I think I am smart, I think I have great computer skills, I have courage, persistence and money to invest.

However, I feel like I am doing something wrong!

During the last 2 weeks I created 8 campaigns. No money yet!

Here is a screen shot of my Campaign Summery for you:

And here is my Clickbank Snapshot…

What am I doing wrong? Throw me a bone here…

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong, online money isn’t easy and we all know it, until I thought I’m on to something, and start making money, it hit me and I lost some money on a “winning campaign”, there are no free launches.

Just keep doing what you are doing, add some statistics, see when did you offer converted, and launch the campaign in those hours only, tweak your landing page, are you using one? or you’re just lasingly direct linking?

use prosper 202 to track your stuff, be even smarter than you already are, we’ll get there :)

    Thanks Gosu!
There is nothing better than encouragement from friends (except succeeding of course :) )

About conversion tracking: for now i’m using only Clickbank TID. When I will find a winning campaign I will upgrade it with better tracking…

As for landing pages, for some of the campaigns I use and for some not. And you?

I’d say just try more niches until you find a profitable one, or two, or more :)

Lately I’ve been sick so I couldn’t do much affiliating, nothing but watch my statistics hehe, they are down, somehow my offer doesn’t convert the last two days, which is very strange because it usually converts well, so either I stuck a beginners luck with that winning two days in a row, or maybe the offers don’t convert on weekends.

Right now the script that start and pause ads in facebook runs everyday, but because I’m a programmer (we both are, superstars!! hehe) I’ll add more stuff, I want to add week days to the offer, so it won’t run every day.

And a really cool feature, on which I’ll have to work a little harder, that feature will include seeing which hour of the day gets the best CTR, I’ve noticed that offers tend to get different CTR on different hours, so I think I might try running the offer each day in a different hour, to pump up CTR to get lower clicks on new campaigns :)

the only problem is that I don’t necessarily have all the time in the world, and I think that putting it on different days might hurt it, so the “System” is flawed… plus the overhead of running a offer 24 days in a row just to find out the best CTR hour.. but I think it will do well to my clicks to pump up CTR :) I might get the elusive 0.01 cent clicks (nah..) :)

    Hi Gosu,

I am also in kind of a break. I just trying to figure out what i’m doing wrong.
This is why I have nothing to write about. No progress at all.

    How about you?

    Hey NR,

from the screenshot I can see you have two campaigns with over 700 clicks in each. My two cents for you are to put the sentiments aside and pause these campaigns - these products can be very good ones but you obviously don’t know how to market them (for now!). Pause these campaigns, let the other ones run until they reach 300-500 and see if they bring you enough sales to be considered potential money makers. If not - do the same thing for them: pause them and keep testing.
Keep your work dynamic - that way, you won’t find yourself wasting $400 on a campaign that doesn’t work, like yours truly, and you’ll get to see a much broader picture by checking out many more products.

    To our success,
    Johnny the Doe.

    Thanks Jhonny!

For now I have paused all my campaigns.
Right now i’m trying something different - I will try to promote good products with high competition. This way i’m sure this products convert. And I hope i’ll beat the competition…

This is one approach you can take, but try not to throw away money here, it’s easy to be tempted to give high bids when the competition is high.

If I were you I would keep checking the other 6 products which haven’t reached the 300 clicks yet. From my own experience - you don’t need to go for the most popular products to find a good one, there are many “low profile” products that convert well, many of them probably won’t bring you the $500 per day each one but a combination of them can give you a nice passive income relatively easier than when trying to promote a highly competitive product.

All of this campaigns already reached 300 clicks and higher. Maybe 1-2 conversions.
So I will change my strategy. You know what, I will write a post about it today!
